Social Media F.O.R.M.- Plan, Poise, & Priority

Social media is growing in leaps and bounds while there are still many of us learning how to use the medium effectively. And to get the most from Social Media we have got to get connected, get social, keep our bonds personal. You have to take some time and get to know the friend you've just added, relate to him or her.

But that brings to question, how to do that? How do I get to know someone? What do I ask? Sometimes it is a tough chore for even the most socially capable, outgoing person to deal with, but Social Media F.O.R.M. can help. F.O.R.M. gives you a plan, poise, and maintains that ever important priority, personal connection.

But first, what is Social Media F.O.R.M? F.O.R.M. is an acronym. F, stands for family, O, stands for occupation, R, stands for recreation, and M, stands for your message.

Now when its time to connect, converse, you have something to say, something to ask. Ask the other person about their family, friends. Whom doesnt enjoy discussing what is going on in their family life, whats going on with their friends. Likewise, ask about the O, their occupation. Again, a subject usually everyone has and will tell you about. And after he or she has told you about their work, then discuss R. R stands for recreation and whom doesnt have a hobby or interest to talk about? Then fianlly, M, your message. After he or she tells you about their family, friends, occupation, and recreational choices, many will ask about what you do! And then you can fill them in, but even more importantly, you will know alittle about this person and will better be able to apply your product or service to their needs.

This handy acronym provides a plan of action. What to ask, what do discuss. And knowing what to ask next gives you confidence, poise with the conversation. F.O.R.M. aids in your abitliy to communicate and connect with that new friend on a persoanl level. In addtion, it keeps your priority in check. It maintains your focus on the needs of others. What to keep in mind when meeting and getting to know someone new. It like we've all heard it said before, "help enough other people succeed and your success is gauranteed."

So, while the growing of our businesses is critial, and our top priority, think of them, those new friends and their needs. Apply F.O.R.M., ask questions, and your network will grow and your internet success will follow.

If you would, please leave your comments and experiences. I would enjoy knowing what you think.
