Key Skills: Learning to Learn.

There are many skills to learn when considering social media and marketing on the internet. Some of the more important skills are being able to write, knowledge of social platforms like FaceBook, Twitter, Linked, and many others, knowledge of and how to use an autoresponder and email marketing, set up and tweak a simple website, and ever so important being able to keep your self and business organized.

While there are as many other skills that might be consider as important by as many people as you might ask, yet what I want to focus on here today is the skills necessary to learn! The techniques that will enable the skills and abilities we need to actually succeed online. Simple learning techniques can help gain and use the knowledge and techniques that we need. As children we usally learned from someone telling us how to do something. Then they would show us, and finally we would try to repeat the skill. Sometimes with success, sometimes not. But what is important, you learned. Learning is a skill even more important then the knowledge or skill you seek! Knowing how to learn gives you the abitily to aquire and have the finesse to master any desireable skill set.

There are five simple steps to learning; a simple process to aquire the knowledge or skill set you desire.

First, Read about the skill(s) you want to aquire. Google it, read blogs, free ebooks, forums, and what others are saying about it. There is tons of information and data on any subject imaginable on the internet. When is the last time you visited the library? So determine the skills you need, search it out, and read!

Secondly, Take a short course on the subjet. Seek out professionals or experts in the field using the skills and technique you seek. While this might cost you a few dollars, but it will be an investment yourself and your ability to be more productive with your online endeavers. Besides there are some benefits to learning from an expert. Usually, this peson will have a done what it is you need to learn. Plus, learning from an expert also saves you time, espceially when it comes to advoiding mistakes. So invest in yourself, your future, and take a course!

Thirdly, now its time to take action. Use your new skill. Apply it to a real life or business situation. If you need to learn to write ad copy or an article, then write. Plan to use the article as part of your marketing plans. Simply apply and impliment what you have learned from your reading and taking courses.

Fourth, assess the results; analyis its effect. Ask the tough questions. Did you do a good job? How can you improve on your work? Draw conclusions about your work, weather it meets with your goals, and then improve it.

Fifth and most importantly, reapply the skill. Do it Again! I can't say enough about this step. It is where you see the real results of your efforts; you eliminate what doesnt work to find what will. And when experiencing some small successes you will be filled with natural exctiment and motivation to do more... and when you do more... you succeed more!

Best of luck learning and using your new learning skills. Stay focused on your goals as you learn new skills. Apply the new skill, learn from it and keep doing. Remember, what you do today will make you whom you will become tomorrow.

Thanks for reading, hope it this insight helps. Do you have any learning techniques that have help you? let me know... would love to share them. Leave me a comment.

till my next post...

Social Media F.O.R.M.- Plan, Poise, & Priority

Social media is growing in leaps and bounds while there are still many of us learning how to use the medium effectively. And to get the most from Social Media we have got to get connected, get social, keep our bonds personal. You have to take some time and get to know the friend you've just added, relate to him or her.

But that brings to question, how to do that? How do I get to know someone? What do I ask? Sometimes it is a tough chore for even the most socially capable, outgoing person to deal with, but Social Media F.O.R.M. can help. F.O.R.M. gives you a plan, poise, and maintains that ever important priority, personal connection.

But first, what is Social Media F.O.R.M? F.O.R.M. is an acronym. F, stands for family, O, stands for occupation, R, stands for recreation, and M, stands for your message.

Now when its time to connect, converse, you have something to say, something to ask. Ask the other person about their family, friends. Whom doesnt enjoy discussing what is going on in their family life, whats going on with their friends. Likewise, ask about the O, their occupation. Again, a subject usually everyone has and will tell you about. And after he or she has told you about their work, then discuss R. R stands for recreation and whom doesnt have a hobby or interest to talk about? Then fianlly, M, your message. After he or she tells you about their family, friends, occupation, and recreational choices, many will ask about what you do! And then you can fill them in, but even more importantly, you will know alittle about this person and will better be able to apply your product or service to their needs.

This handy acronym provides a plan of action. What to ask, what do discuss. And knowing what to ask next gives you confidence, poise with the conversation. F.O.R.M. aids in your abitliy to communicate and connect with that new friend on a persoanl level. In addtion, it keeps your priority in check. It maintains your focus on the needs of others. What to keep in mind when meeting and getting to know someone new. It like we've all heard it said before, "help enough other people succeed and your success is gauranteed."

So, while the growing of our businesses is critial, and our top priority, think of them, those new friends and their needs. Apply F.O.R.M., ask questions, and your network will grow and your internet success will follow.

If you would, please leave your comments and experiences. I would enjoy knowing what you think.
