Social Networking Simple as 1, 2, 3...

The successful use of Social Media grows with time and connection with that media. And the resulting network likewise, grows and developes. To experience continual growth all you need to do is follow some simple steps. Social Newtworking - simple as 1, 2, 3,...

1. First, Reach 0ut to others, add them as your friends. Make sure to use the tools available with your media platform to enable and enhance this process making the use of your time more efficient. You need to continualy add new contacts to your friends list. Set a small goal of adding 3 - 5 new friends each day. So, after a week you've already added over 25 new contacts, new friends to your network.

2. Second, now you have to connect with them. You have to get to know these individuals; connect with them by posting messages on their wall, emailing them, chatting with them. Particiapte in the conversations that are taking place, but, always remember keep the focus on their conversation, their interests, and NEVER directly promote your business on their walls. Keep it personal!

3. Third, Grow the relationship with them. Reach out and show interest in them. Email them, but ask about them. Keep the attention of your contacts on your new friends needs, wants and interests. And the resulting natural response will be that they will find you ineresting because YOU find them interesting. Funny how it actually works, but it does.

So, again, keep it personal until you have earned their trust. After they get to know you, and have a connection with you they will begin to participate in your interests. They will naturally start watching your wall posts, inquire about your interests, your business or services, and even buy something from you.

Keep your conversations focused on the individual. Follow the numbers: 1. Add new friends, 2. Connect with them, and 3. Grow your relationships. Social Media F.O.R.M.- Plan, Poise, & Priority

Social media is growing in leaps and bounds while there are still many of us learning how to use the medium effectively. And to get the most from Social Media we have got to get connected, get social, keep our bonds personal. You have to take some time and get to know the friend you've just added, relate to him or her.

But that brings to question, how to do that? How do I get to know someone? What do I ask? Sometimes it is a tough chore for even the most socially capable, outgoing person to deal with, but Social Media F.O.R.M. can help. F.O.R.M. gives you a plan, poise, and maintains that ever important priority, personal connection.

But first, what is Social Media F.O.R.M? F.O.R.M. is an acronym. F, stands for family, O, stands for occupation, R, stands for recreation, and M, stands for your message.

Now when its time to connect, converse, you have something to say, something to ask. Ask the other person about their family, friends. Whom doesnt enjoy discussing what is going on in their family life, whats going on with their friends. Likewise, ask about the O, their occupation. Again, a subject usually everyone has and will tell you about. And after he or she has told you about their work, then discuss R. R stands for recreation and whom doesnt have a hobby or interest to talk about? Then fianlly, M, your message. After he or she tells you about their family, friends, occupation, and recreational choices, many will ask about what you do! And then you can fill them in, but even more importantly, you will know alittle about this person and will better be able to apply your product or service to their needs.

This handy acronym provides a plan of action. What to ask, what do discuss. And knowing what to ask next gives you confidence, poise with the conversation. F.O.R.M. aids in your abitliy to communicate and connect with that new friend on a persoanl level. In addtion, it keeps your priority in check. It maintains your focus on the needs of others. What to keep in mind when meeting and getting to know someone new. It like we've all heard it said before, "help enough other people succeed and your success is gauranteed."

So, while the growing of our businesses is critial, and our top priority, think of them, those new friends and their needs. Apply F.O.R.M., ask questions, and your network will grow and your internet success will follow.

If you would, please leave your comments and experiences. I would enjoy knowing what you think.
